Welcome! Have some nettle tea and wintergreen cookies. It's very strange how well represented Washington State is on this Board. Strange in a good way.

Indeed, welcome to the board missingthefool. Have some apricot brandy, and from my part of Washington, some smoked salmon. If I may ask, what part of Washington are you in? I hang out in Port Angeles, in the northwest corner. |

Certainly! I'm from Bothell, about 25 min. North of Seattle (and also Microsoft), and about 50 min. North of Her Hobbness. Ah, Port Angeles! Hurricane
Ridge is spectacularly beautiful, and I LOVE the Olympic Forest! The Hoh Rainforest is one of my favorite places!!

Hello and welcome - I've a feeling I may have said that before, but it's always good to see people in the Introductions thread and to get an idea of
who they actually are in real life. (Obviously, most of us are really burly dockworkers, but we keep quiet about that.)
I have seen you lurking quite often I think... well, lurking in plain sight obviously or I wouldn't have seen you. Hmm. Anyway. Have some fairybread! The original and the best. *snaffles the smoked salmon while no-one's looking* |

Please, skittledog, help yourself to all the smoked salmon! I'll stick to apricot brandy and Sara's fresh pastries! (and, of course, the wintergreen cookies so kindly offered by Keppet!) |

There are pastries?! Oooh...

Bothell, cool. I know roughly where that is. Close to the Edmonds-Kingston ferry, which I take when I want to go to north Seattle instead of downtown. I guess, since you're in the neighborhood, the smoked salmon was kind of superfluous, anyway. |

I'm not sure where to post this, but since pecooper is from Port Angeles, I thought I'd mention to anyone in our area that Robin Hobb has posted on the
SFF site that, for anyone who wants to come in the area, several of us are getting together for pizza at Delfino's Pizza at University Village Mall in
Seattle on July 27th. I e-mailed her to ask if she cared if I posted it here, and she said anyone could come and that she would also post it on her Myspace
page. Exact time is TBD, but it will be around lunch.

I completely forgot to do this...
I'm Rosie, a mid-20's, newly qualified vet (ha! I'm not sure how long it's going to be before I stop being excited to write that!) currently living in the middle of nowhere just outside London but I'm originally from Birmingham. I have no idea where I'll end up living post graduation. I got introduced to Hobb (and this board) by a friend who occasionally posts here and stayed for the craziness. As well as reading (crime and fantasy predominantly but other stuff too), I'm a big theatre fan (mainly musicals) and I enjoy TV (esp Whedon) and travel. And who'd dare tell the lambs in spring

Yeah, it's just the UK Hobblings she avoids...

Welcome, missingthe fool. Like your intro. I can relate to your experience. I discovered Robin Hobb at around the same time, March of this year or so. And
her books took over a great deal of my time after that. Welcome to the board. Amazing. After reading a bunch of these posts, the virtual eating actually
seems to work!
Also, congratulations Rosie on earning your veterinary qualification. (That's really great!) May your career be an enjoyable adventure! |

Welcome, cle 1865. May I offer you the traditional Fairy Bread and Apricot Brandy? "Gardener by trade" covers a lot of ground. What kind of gardening do you do? Maintenance? Garden design? Exotic plants? |

Welcome, Chris. Nice to have you around. Royal Navy Chef sounds fascinating. Does that mean you were a chef that chose to work with the Navy or a member of the
Navy that was assigned the role of chef?

Greetings, chrisph! You're a chef, and chefs are my favourite people in the world (after set designers). Welcome to the board!
