I'm so sorry, guys. What a terrible run... But having such wonderful creatures in our lives is really something that cannot compare.
Biped - I hope things get better for your friend, if they possibly can... I'm sure you're doing plenty just by being there, and sometimes that's terribly important and valuable. My friend who was attacked seems to be doing quite well - aside from the fact that some guy broke into their house the other day and almost killed her flatmate by strangling her... Yeah, how $%*#%% is that? And it was completely random... That whole household has had a terrible run lately... I must go and see them soon, see if there's anything I can do...

What the...?! Em, that's horrible. They could do with some serious crystals in that house to take away the negativity and rebalance everything. Awful. The
poor things.
Gah. And look after yourself while you're at it, won't you?
You've got to be the best,
You've got to change the world and use this chance to be heard. Your time is now. |

Man, oh man, em! Take good care of your friends, and especially take good care of yourself.

Goodness me, your poor friends, Em.
And I'm sorry about your cat, Lela. |

Oh no, that's unbelievable, Em. What everybody else said, take care of your friends and of yourself.
And biped, hope you can be there for your friend and help them deal with what they're going through. Also, I said this in the other thread, but I'm sorry about your cat, Lela. And about your Dad's cat, Rosie. Loosing pets is horrible. Why is that so many bad things seem to happen to good people lately? Let's hope that things will start going easier for Hobblings and their friends from now on. |

I got an e-mail on facebook today to say that a girl I went to primary school with had died today from cancer. We haven't spoken in years but it's such
a shock to hear that someone my age has died.

That's terribly sad, and a very brutal reminder of mortality.
Houston, this is more of an FYI call - we're basically out of the door.

One of the barn hands who has been battling drug addiction snapped two nights ago and shot one of the stable dogs.
This is especially disturbing because we all liked this fellow and were hoping he would pull through. And also, what sort of creature shoots another's pet? It was a puppy, not even a year old. |

Woah, that's $$%@%@. How on earth could you do that to a puppy?
Obviously he needs some heavy duty help.

RianSeeking wrote:Unfortunately, your first sentence answers your question. Drug addiction is an awful thing. I was not fun to be around when I was trying to kick the nicotine habit and that's one of the minor ones. My friend couldn't face stopping his addiction to alcohol and put a bullet through his head. I can't imagine what it is like trying to get off heroin or methamphetamines. Immanuel Kant: sapere aude |

Urg. What's going to happen to him now? Were the police called?

He was kicked off the property, but no police. It was a hard thing. The owner of the barn has been doing his best for the past year to save this particular
young man. But after he shot the dog Rian's trainer pulled up and started loading his horses: the ultimatum being, either Barnhand goes or I go. BarnOwner
needs the trainer to keep horses at his barn. So Barnhand was forced out.
It is a hard thing all around, as I said. Many people were close to Barnhand. But it is also a frightening thing. He knew he had problems, he should not have had the gun around in the first place. And, a puppy? |

Poor little pup... and poor barnhand, too... What will happen to him now?

I think the guy should be reported to the police, because, in spite of being nice when he's clean, he's apparently dangerous when he's high, so, if
he could kill a puppy, an innocent creature, what'll stop him killing a child or a person next time? He should definitely get some help.

Did he take the gun with him when he left, Rian? I have to agree with Nadine, if he did. This guy is dangerous and the cops need to be warned.

<enjoys a late breakfast> Rian does not know if he took the gun. I assume he did. I did not even know he HAD a gun. And if any other person did know,
they should have taken it away.
It is out of my hands and so I will cross my fingers that things get better. |

I'm fed up of posting in this thread... my Aunt has ovarian cancer. She's feeling quite positive which I guess is the main thing. They're talking
about chemo and then ovariohysterectomy.
